刘新海，男，汉族，中共党员，1974年4月出生，博士，副教授，硕士生导师。1996年，毕业于湖南大学应用物理系，获学士学位，1999年获湖南大学大学理论物理专业硕士学位，2002年获中国科学院物理研究所凝聚态物理专业博士学位，2002-2004年在清华大学大学物理系
从事
博士后研究工作。
2004年晋升为副教授。
主要研究方向：（1）纳米结构的电子学和光电子学研究；（2）分子器件的电子学研究。
自2003年以来，先后主持中
国
博士后科学基金1项，主持湖南省教育厅青年科学基金1项。在国际及国内专业学术刊物上，如Phys.Rev.B，The European Physical Journal B, Journal of Applied Physics等国内外核心刊物上发表研究SCI检索论文多篇。
